…lively, interesting, and convivial
“Small plazas or squares are, after streets, the most vital element in a village.I believe that the most important use of a square is its function as public living space for inhabitants and visitors alike. I do not believe that any foreseeable development of virtual reality will replace squares as important places where friends meet and new acquaintances are made…A square is the best location for people watching, as long as enough people use it to bring it to life.” JH Crawford
Piscataquis County is sadly missing these important spaces, lacking even the traditional New England “common”. Each of the neighborhoods in the Village will have a small plaza at it’s heart. No residence would be more than a few hundred feet from the neighborhood square.
